NBWA’s Annual Convention provides the entire beer industry with a unique opportunity to come together for four days of education, networking and fun. It is a time to hear from expert speakers about important industry issues, attend insightful seminars, learn about NBWA activities, discuss mutual concerns with industry partners and catch up with old friends.
The 69th Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida, was a monumental event during which NBWA members welcomed their first female Chairman of the Board, Betty Buck, president of Buck Distributing in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Featured guest speakers included Heineken USA President Andy Thomas, political commentator Stuart Rothenberg and national polling expert Chris Wilson spoke to the group about the public’s knowledge of beer distributors and the three-tier system.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani provided the convention's keynote address highlighting the subject of leadership. Mayor Giuliani's message reminded convention attendees about the importance of preparation, accountability and loyalty. Two lively panel discussions answered some questions and raised some more. Competition and Regulation: A Delicate Balancing Act highlighted the challenges to maintaining an orderly market that promotes competition while regulating unique products. Which Craft? Brewing up Some Growth put recent growth in the craft segment front and center and focused on the relationship between distributors and craft brewers.
