The employees of the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) support NBWA's mission, its leadership and industry initiatives. NBWA's structure is comprised of five departments: Federal Affairs, Industry Affairs, Membership and Meetings, Finance and Administration and Public Affairs.

The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of independent beer distributors who hold a basic permit under the Federal Alcohol Administration Act to distribute beer (or its equivalent for distributors operating in a U.S. territory or possession).

Voting members of the Board of Directors consist of five elected officers (chair, immediate past chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer), ten regional chairs and 53 state directors including at least one from each state and the District of Columbia.

The NBWA Board meets three times annually to forward industry initiatives and address key issues. Board members serve on multiple committees. Committees include: Management, Audit, Convention and Membership Services, Finance, Government Affairs, Industry Affairs, Legal Review, Membership Development, Nominating, Political Action, Public Affairs, and Technology.

These members supervise, control and direct the affairs of the Association, determine its policies, actively prosecute its objectives and supervise disbursement of its funds.
