It's Time to Celebrate! 75th Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition |
|
April 7, 2008 marks 75 years of a legal, safe and regulated beer industry in America. On April 7, 1933 President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a law which legalized beer with an alcohol-by-volume percentage of 3.2, signaling the beginning of the end for the 13 year "failed experiment" known as Prohibition and making beer the first alcohol beverage to legally re-enter the marketplace.
America's beer distributors are celebrating 75 years of the modern beer distribution system - an effective state-based system regulatory system that protects American consumers and delivers the greatest choice and value in the world!

Is there a difference between beer and hard liquor...You bet your brewsky!
Beer and hard liquor are not the same, despite what the liquor lobby may be telling you. For example, a Long Island Iced Tea can contain as much alcohol as five to six beers. While some groups will try to tell you otherwise, Americans are not easily fooled by the “a drink is a drink” theory. A recently conducted poll found that more than half of adult beverage consumers recognize that a drink is not a drink because liquor is more potent and can be consumed more quickly.
