Long Island Beer Distributor Encourages High School Students to Make Responsible Decisions
Clare Rose, Inc., a beer distributorship located in Melville, New York, has worked to spread the message that underage drinking is no joke by working to distribute an educational video to local high schools. The 30-minute video, Enduring Regret: Chris Sandy’s Story of Living Life After Causing Death, is the product of a partnership between the Center for Alcohol Policy (CAP) and the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association (GBWA).
The dramatic documentary tells the very real and emotional story of Chris Sandy, a convicted drunk driver who is now serving time behind bars. The documentary is intended to show young people the consequences of underage drinking and drunk driving.
Clare Rose Senior Vice President Ken Meyer said he presented the video to the athletic director on one local high school on Long Island and, in the weeks that have followed, Meyer has received calls and requests for the video from other high school athletic directors – including those outside of Long Island. “The video is powerful,” Meyer said.
