NBWA Continues Holiday Charitable Tradition with Adopt-a-Family Program
Just like local beer distributors across the country, the staff of the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) is committed to involvement in their community. In the spirit of holiday giving, the NBWA staff in Alexandria, Virginia, continued the tradition of participating in the “Adopt-a-Family” program sponsored by Alexandria Head Start and The Campagna Center.
The Campagna Center has operated in Alexandria for more than 60 years. Today, it operates seven programs that support children in Alexandria by providing services that allow them to arrive at school ready to learn and ensure they are academically successful at each grade level. The Head Start program promotes school readiness for 270 preschool children from low-income families living in the city of Alexandria through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services.
This holiday season, NBWA’s staff donated their time and money to a local family of six. Donations to the family include household items such as towels and bed sheets, as well as children’s books, toys, and games.
“From making financial contributions to devoting time to shopping and wrapping presents, the staff of NBWA really enjoyed working together to brighten another family’s holiday season this year,” said NBWA Vice President, Membership and Meetings Patti Rouzie, who organizes the effort each year.
