The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) recently partnered with the Brewers Association to host a “Flavors of Fall” event on Capitol Hill.  Members of Congress, their staffs, industry friends and others had the opportunity to sample some of the 13,000 labels of beers available across the country, including many seasonal brews.  Attendees had the opportunity to taste offerings from at least 17 different states.

Showcasing beers from 32 of America’s more than 1,750 breweries, the event highlighted how the American system of state-based alcohol controls and America’s beer distributors help entrepreneurial brewers grow, provides access to market for beers of all styles and flavors and delivers the widest selection of beer in the world.

“We are excited to highlight the strengths of the American system of alcohol controls in the United States, which creates a level playing field for brewers of all types and sizes – from entrepreneurial craft labels to large national brands and imports from countries around the world,” said NBWA President Craig Purser.  “Beer distributors work hard in communities across the country to help those craft brands, and every other brand, get to store shelves and bar taps and into the marketplace.”

America’s time-tested system of state-based alcohol distribution provides consumers with unparalleled choice and variety while providing transparency and accountability.
