The Yellow Ribbon Fund paired three civilian golfers with a wounded service member to comprise foursome teams to help raise awareness of the needs of injured service members.  General McChrystal also visited with every foursome on the course and took time to have an in-depth conversation with each service member.  The tournament raised more than $200,000 to assist injured service members and their families.

Representatives Rick Crawford of Arkansas and Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania greeted the golfers and met with service memers.  Angie Goff of WUSA-TV, Washington D.C., emceed the reception afterward.

NBWA Executive Vice President Mike Johnson participated in the event, and Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs Rebecca Spicer served as a volunteer.

“Having the opportunity to play a great sport with true heroes is an absolute honor,” said Johnson.

Spicer also noted, “Everyone involved with this tournament was touched by the overwhelming spirit that the service members brought to the game and to the event.”
