As technology continues to develop and warehouses become more sophisticated, beer distribution employees must be certain they are up to speed on all the latest product offerings from their solution provider partners. For HighJump Software users, the annual HighJump Innovation Users Conference held September 18-21 in Orlando, Florida, provided this opportunity.

The conference provided an opportunity for subscribers to learn about new products HighJump offers, best practices in utilizing existing software and what lies ahead for supply chain technology. Attendees also had an opportunity to network and learn from fellow users across various industries throughout the country.

NBWA’s Senior Director of State & Industry Affairs Dave Christman was invited to present a seminar at the Innovation Users Conference titled, “Change Brewing in Beer Distribution: Industry Trends from NBWA.”  Christman addressed a room full of beer distribution employees and covered a variety of topics from national and state challenges NBWA has been addressing to trends the industry has seen over the past several years.  Christman also discussed the recent activities of the NBWA Innovation & Technology Committee, as well as the Beer Industry Electronic Commerce Coalition (BIECC), of which HighJump Software is an associate member.

“In recent years, NBWA has witnessed a dramatic increase in the use of e-commerce tools embraced by its distributor members,” said Christman.  “Beer distributors are using various forms of technology to increase productivity levels and lower costs in the areas of forecasting, delivery, warehousing and payment. Increasingly, distributors are recognizing the key role that technology plays in the future of the beer industry and the competitive advantage that technology brings into their operation.”

“Staying ahead of technology advancements and trends is a challenge and vital for survival in today's competitive marketplace,” Christman continued.  “It’s always a great opportunity for members of the beer distribution industry to gather together to share and discuss the benefits of technology tools and options available to them.”
