The surprising places consumers might find liquor in Washington
Now that Washington state is out of the liquor sales business, NPR discusses the unexpected places where bottles of alcohol are showing up. Consumers can now find bottles of spirits at their neighborhood drugstore, hardware store and in just about any kind of store that can claim 10,000 square feet. There are now roughly 1,500 private retailers across the state, up from 329 state liquor outlets before privatization.
