More than 100 NBWA members from 44 different member companies recently attended the 2015 BevCap Best Practices Workshop hosted by NBWA partner and insurance program manager BevCap Management, LLC from April 13-15 in Orlando, Florida.
BevCap Management opens the workshop to all NBWA members regardless of whether they are BevCap clients. This year, 37 individuals attended from 21 different distribution companies not currently insured by BevCap. The workshop’s popularity continues to grow, with the number of attendees climbing from around 80 attendees in 2013 to 180 attendees in 2015.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from three keynote speakers. Todd Clement shared his unique perspective as a Dallas personal injury lawyer widely recognized for his successful representation of victims of catastrophic injuries and wrongful death, primarily in the areas of trucking and commercial collisions. Clement detailed his passion and expertise for cases involving cell phone use and texting while driving. John Drebinger, an acclaimed international safety speaker and author, instructed the attendees on “Safety for Effective Leaders.” Dr. G. Keith Smith described his launch of the Free Market Medical Association, which provides a platform where those seeking to obtain high quality and affordable health care can find free market-minded providers.
Sixteen of the NBWA member attendees also participated as best practices presenters. Safety and risk management presentations included “Functional Employment Testing,” “Effective Safety Committees,” “Alcohol at Company Functions,” “Security Inspections” and “Using Behavior Analytics.” Many of the topics were presented in tandem with service providers, which offered a great opportunity for attendees to learn the approaches and strategies along with practical applications.
Health care presentations by NBWA member speakers included “Direct Contracting,” “Walking for Wellness,” and “Cost Containment Through Strategic Partnering.”
BevCap President Lance Abbott said, “All of us at BevCap Management are truly gratified by the success of Best Practice Workshop. We are passionate about serving NBWA members and giving them a forum to share best practices. We know through Best Practice Workshop members are identifying and implementing best practices that will ensure their employees make it home to their families safely, and they are protecting the communities they serve.”
